Emergencies can usually be seen immediately. Non-emergency new patients are seen for a thorough examination and diagnosis. A comprehensive examination will include an evaluation of teeth, gums, bite, joints and soft tissues of the head and neck area. We will then take x-rays, photographs, and models, if needed. Where indicated, we may recommend consultation with other dental specialists or your physician. We will present our findings, and the patient can choose the recommended care or an alternative and how fast to proceed. Insurance and financial arrangements will be handled before treatment begins.
One of the best ways to protect and maintain your teeth for life is to have a hygienist clean your teeth regularly. At the completion of treatment you will be invited to be in our prevention follow-up program (recall). We are very proud of our hygiene team; our coordinator, who will remind you of your appointments, and our hygienist, who will help you keep your teeth and gums in optimal health. The interval between your follow-up appointments will depend upon how extensive your oral breakdown has been.
